In
the heart of Bristol’s docks, Spyglass is a contemporary 170-seater
alfresco style restaurant split between a converted barge &
the adjacent quayside in one of Bristol’s most stunning waterside
settings.
The inspiration behind
Spyglass is our favourite ‘holiday in the sun’ restaurants,
bringing a piece of the Mediterranean into Bristol’s old city.
The interior is smart, sunny, & alfresco in style, although
the whole area is covered by canvas & fitted with heaters should
the British weather not be at its best.
The concept is barbecued
Mediterranean food that is simple & great value for money, with
the average price of a main course being £7.50. There are
no starters, simply a selection of main courses served from the
barbecue, salads, tapas, side dishes & desserts. (MENU)
Like the food, drinks
are simple & continental in influence – carafes of wine,
sangria & beer. (DRINKS)
For parties of eight
or more there’s a party menu at £14.95, which includes
meze to share, plus a choice of selected mains & desserts. (PARTY
MENU)
Spyglass operates a non-reservation
policy for tables less than eight, & works on a first-come,
first served policy. During the for 2002 by Venue Magazine &
included in the ‘Top 5 New Places to Eat’ in the Bristol
Food Guide.
summer queues form daily

Spyglass’s 2002
debut was enormously successful, & we were awarded the prestigious
